Hypnotherapy Defined
Hypnosis is simply a natural, altered state of mind where a trained hypnotherapist facilitates communication with the subconscious mind.
Hypnotherapy offers the client the opportunity of accessing self-discovery techniques and self-empowerment methods (during an altered stated of mind). Freedom is gained from fear-based programming and assumed limitations. This supports an ongoing experience of your natural state of health, joy, abundance and love, while embracing positive change.
Hypnotherapy combines both art and science, and has existed for perhaps thousands of years. The American Medical Association began providing formal recognition of the technique in the late 1950s while sanctioning modern medical applications.
The power of hypnotherapy resides in the client The hypnotherapist activates the client's imagination in order to achieve physical, emotional, mental and spiritual balance.
The more the client allows this natural process of change and self-discovery to manifest, the more rapid the growth. Hypnosis is a natural state of mind, so you do not have to work at it for the technique to be effective. Hypnotherapy is very a successful technique when a client is strongly motivated and desires change.
If you had yet to taste a fruit, and yet someone described the texture, sweetness, smell and taste of that fruit, you would have some perception of an orange, apple, or a freshly picked organic peach. Yet once you tasted the fruit, and felt the juice drip down your throat, your imagination rests, while knowledge is born into your awareness. Experiencing hypnotherapy is just that; an experience of gaining awareness, self-healing, self-confirmation, and learning to sustain internal and external harmony.
Most people of normal or higher intelligence can be hypnotized. Those with moderate to severe mental illness are not likely candidates. Generally hypnosis is not effective for very young children who have not yet developed conceptual abilities.
